Use: Allows you to work with the Capos and Bastones to create and manage a mini Carnevale plot event that you have personally created.

Use: Allows you to create a mini Carnevale event for any particular upcoming holiday. Item must be purchased and event officially started one week prior to the holiday. Can be a real world holiday or a fictional Lucan holiday.

[ Creating a Shop ]


  • If you are unsure, note the group to make sure your idea works.
    Pretty much any idea will fly with us, and most of you will likely just be setting up art shops. It could even be a theme shop having something to do with your character's profession. If you're simply making an art shop with no strings attached, you do not need to note us to make sure it is okay. If it's something more creative, we need to know how to make the cash system work.
  • Draw a picture of the shop's interior.
    We want you to do this for two reasons: one, because your shop will need to be hosted on a deviation page (not personal journal!); and two, because we want you to be dedicated to what you are doing. An added bonus is that showing the shop's interior adds to the feel of the world, and we'll have something to display for shop listings and the Lucky Lucan's shop of the month. (If it's a stand or market stall, just draw that instead.)
  • Set up your pricing and what your shop is for, in detail.
    You can either creatively work it into your shop interior image (such as on a blackboard), or put it in the artist's comments of your deviation. If it's strictly a chibi shop, etc, say so! Give people a general price range to work with for what you will provide for them.
  • Submit the shop deviation to the World folder.
    This folder will be available soon. It's going to host maps, shops, and other things related to the actual world. Your deviation should be titled with the name of the shop as it would exist in Luca.
  • Note the group about your shop!

    Again, this is to deter people who aren't going to be dedicated. (Besides, you're getting off easy! Most people have to pay monthly rent for their shop space. ;D)




    • [ Using Member Shops ]



    So you want to commission another Carnevale artist using your cash. Great! We love to see that sort of thing. Here's how it goes down:

  • Bold Buyer commissions Awesome Artist to draw a picture for an agreed upon price.
  • Awesome Artist finishes the piece for Bold Buyer.
  • Awesome Artist submits the image to the proper folder. The agreed upon price should be listed in the artist comments.
  • Bold Buyer NOTES the group, confirming that it was commissioned.
  • The correct amount of cash is transferred from Bold Buyer to Awesome Artist on the spreadsheet.
  • In addition, Awesome Artist is awarded normal cash value for the image.


    • It's actually worth MORE to own a shop and get commissioned, because not only are you receiving the standard amount of cash for your drawings, but you are also receiving however much the commissioner gave you. And remember, you absolutely do not have to use the Carnevale cash system as a point of reference for prices. It can be cheaper or more expensive as you see fit.



    [ Ideas for Specialty Shops]



    Be creative and try to cater to your character's strengths or professions. Here are a few examples:

    • Your character is a bartender, and your shop is a bar. Images you specialize in are other characters enjoying drinks, getting drunk, singing karaoke, or taking part in other sorts of bar-type scenes.
    • Your character is a clockmaker, and your shop is a clock shop. You make custom clock and watch adoptables.
    • Your character is a beautician, and your shop is a salon. You specialize in high-quality headshots of characters looking well-groomed for any occasion, complete with hair and makeup.
    • Your character is a journalist for The Lucky Lucan (shameless plug), and your shop is part of the newspaper HQ. You specialize in articles about the commissioner's character(s) that may appear later in the actual newspaper.
    • Your character is a hired gun, and your shop is simply being a freelance thug. You specialize in drawing pictures of the commissioner's character being protected by your own in any circumstances. (Emphasis on the commissioner's character, remember.)

    And those are just some ideas that give you an idea as to what we mean by specialty shops. My character Bianca is a gymnast; if I ever opened a shop, my specialty would probably have something to do with action scenes that require a lot of movement.
