Ada Wong painting. I’ve been doing a bunch of sketches of her (that I’ll also upload), and here’s my try at a basically full body shot in colour. My internship is sucking up all of my free time so I’ve been doing my best to find time where I can find the peace of mind needed to paint. It’s hard to do when working a job that is basically “never finished for the day” no matter what you do.Related content

The stained glass in the background looks really awesome! Also really like that little pinch of blue in the overall red colour scheme

Thanks! The glass was a pain tt. This painting is a crash course in what happens when you hurry through the preliminary stages of a painting without properly setting up layers or making sure the drawing is correct lol. I swear I spent 6 hours just chipping away and repainting parts because the initial sketch was so off, hah. It was hard to try and get the very busy background to work with the character, and I had her more properly backlit at first (from the glass) but it didn't really work out so I re-did her lightning.
Made a big list of things not to do again, so hopefully this will be a learning experience, hah.

Yeah it's definitely tough to get a busy background to work with the foreground. Sometimes it's a matter of just blurring the background, but then it feels like a waste of hard work.

Yep! I've been getting into the series extremely late, literally played through re1 (remake) just this year. So far I've gone through (in quick succession) re1, 5, 6 and 7 (all great games in their own right), so I wanted to paint something to showcase that.
