Description
Decided to make a birthday gift for of his yet-undepicted character based on quite a detailed description.I tend to experiment a bit with gifts and this time I took some advice from reforger to try drawing on a canvas smaller than a small European city state. This one is about half the size I normally use, but as a result, I got it done super fast over the weekend. It's a little rougher than my normal work, but I think it's still effective enough given the enhanced turnaround time.

hey this came out really great looking! taking into account that how fast you coloured, linearted and shaded this, this looks excellent! the best looking part is without a doubt the rifle, with all the detailed lineart^^
Guess it's just me I find it a shame that the shading is making it harder to see the excellent lineart detail on the rifle. I guess thats why I preffer a more sharp and striking shading style compared to this. Still looks good. and it's cool to see you practising some big contrasts of light and shadow!^^
but yea great work, your lineart is reaching topnotch levels really fast^^

Yeah, I really surprised myself with how fast I got this done. I'm hoping I can set it as a new standard for things like gifts and trades since I can work fast but still produce something I'm comfortable to give to someone else.
Heh, the really hard shading here was actually Piet's idea. I showed him an earlier draft with the same highlights but not as dark shadows and he suggested just going really hard and making it quite dark. I think the result was good though.
