About the paintingActors James Nesbitt as Bofur and Aidan Turner as Kili, my favourite dwarves of Thorin's company from The Hobbit movie. I was inspired by Evan 's beautiful paintings and having received her allowance, I tried to do my version of dwarves in ink - slightly more realistic and detailed.
I usually portray serious faces, so this time I went for smiling ones! These two smile a lot in the movie, so I had to depict them in the first place... and this means there will be more paintings like this one! I'm going to paint ALL THE DWARVES Keep your fingers crossed for me!

It was the first time I used ink. What may sound odd, I found painting with ink much easier than painting with coffee or watercolours, although both media are actually easier than ink! You know, you can't fix ink. Once you paint the stain, it's over, you can't change anything. AND I LOVE IT I had so much fun painting their hair, clothes [especially Bofur's jacket and funny hat! ]. I struggled a bit with Kili's face, it was too fat and weird, but I hope it's OK now.
I chose a sheet of peachy/beige paper so the painting looked a bit vintage, old.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I almost destroyed this painting - I accidentally turned over the bottle with ink which was standing near the work! Luckily, I was quick and managed to save the painting [although there is a tiny stain, I erased it in Photoshop].
