Great work there on this one! Is this done on a A3 paper? O_O
My drawing style is using more clear lines and the shading is smoother so cant understand how your drawing can look like this with this dot style as I call it, looks better to be honest

Why A3? For me if the drawing is bigger, it is easier to make...I can be more precise
I use cross- hatching in my drawings. It is quite old technique, often used by illustrators, works great with pen&ink. If it is done properly, looks really nice , and personally I think it is definitely better than shading achieved by using tortillon or similar tool.
In addiction, this technique makes drawing really light and sketchy...which features I appreciate in drawings the most

A3 is way bigger than A4 which is the size I prefer, just curious how big the papers are that you are using?
Oh yeah, I learned about that technique yesterday xD Hmm that style looks good and seems in some ways to be easier to do when drawing airplanes and illustrations than my more realistic style is.(Maybe even looks better as well)
When i do shading I dont use tools but using my pencil very well and cover the area in different darkness tones, if i really need to I could use my finger to thin it out.

I might when I´m done with my latest drawing try this technique out on a new airplane drawing

But I still prefer my normal style and wanna take that to the limit

Thanks for explaining it!
