This is a painting a did for my brother in law for Christmas this last year, I've just never posted it for some reason! It took me roughly a week to paint, I used Sakura Brand Koi Water Colors, the Pocket Field Sketch Box 12 color set, with a water brush. My brother really likes Phoenixes, and he had had a poster of one but it somehow got lost when he and my sister moved into their new house. So I made him this to replace it.I'm very proud of how it turned out, because I just jumped into this without much sketching out. I put down the basic shape that I was thinking, and that was it, I just went at it. This photo doesn't do the original justice, but it's as good as I could get.

woah, just love all the colors here, this is so awesome! Good work getting all those details to stick out, too! Often it's easy for the bright colors to overwhelm everything, but you kept it to a good balance! Nice!
