Your use of levels is inspired. You have made what is essentially a dull background into something interesting with a washed out look, while retaining perfect colour balance. I will have to remember this technique as I always usually go for deep blacks and bright whites. Nice one.

I think itβs this one for me; out of the three where youβre placed amongst the clutter of life.
While I like the other two shots for their intensity of pose, the exhaustion the solitude, the thoughts that grip your figure they are conflicted in composition. There are aspects of the framing that does not seem to work or some angles and elements of the picture that wrestle too much with the viewer, vying for attention.
This shot however just holds. The single eye and the veiled eye works well as a metaphor for people, life etc. The subtlety of colour and tone smooths the contents of youβre surroundings with the pose of your figure. The pose itself is an interesting mix of restraint, fear, abandon and regret. As to the title, it is a fantastic tale but I hope you still have your strength.

Which DSLR would you recommend to a beginner/amateur? But also something which lasts.

i think you can take a good shot+ practice with basically any type of camera. i like canons for digital, but thats just my opinion. i love my 400D - learn about aperture and DoF + ISO and you'll get the hang of any camera
