I went back and edited this image, changing so much about it that it deserved to be reposted.Done with Intuos 3 and Photoshop CS6. From research to finish, this piece took more than 25 hours.

I really like this character...the whole concept really. I've always been a big fan of Hannibal of Carthage, or at least what he was able to accomplish historically. The idea of using elephants combatively has always fascinated me and is something I have been wanting to portray using 3D for some time. I really love the tribal appearance of both the femal character and the warpaint on the elephant itself. Fantastic job!

Loving the face, but you might be losing the form for the color. Also, check out the silhouette of the rocks on our right; this close-up rocks usually don't have such a smooth, organic shape.

Initially the image had no background and the rocks were an experiment I added later. I tried different types and so far anything more detailed distracted from the main point of the image - the girl and the elephant.
There's quite a lot wrong with this artwork 
But for now I'm letting it collect feedback.
