The river is still a major form of transport along the Thu Ban River around the Hoi An Area. From what I could make out, the lady had negotiated with the ferryman of the Sampan the fare for the journey. I passed by the spot about 15 minutes later and she was still sitting there and no sight of the ferryman. She does look a little apprehensive.
