Cool shot. Love the lighting and intense hair. The instrument is actually called a Hang; the creators strongly discourage calling it a drum as it is actually in the idiophone class of intstruments.

Thank you for the information.  I knew it wasnt a drum but I had no idea what it was called and it was the first time I ever saw one.

But I took the liberty of calling it a drum for the sake of the title ... "Dreadlocks and Hang" doesnt sound that cool ..

They started development in 2000, so it is no surprise you haven't seen one. They were created by a few people in Sweden who still hand makes them to this day, so there are very few out there. It is as much a piece of art as it is an instrument. I only knew about them after watching some beautiful videos on YouTube and falling in love with the instrument.
