Description Location:  Hoi An, Vietnam

This was my first sighting of Old Town Hoi An,  I took a Sampan from a village a few kilometers down the Thu Bon River.

Graceful, historic Hoi An is Vietnam’s most atmospheric and delightful town. It is a UNESCO heritage site since 1999. Once a major port, it boasts the grand architecture and beguiling riverside setting that befits its heritage.

The face of the Old Town has preserved its incredible legacy of tottering Japanese merchant houses, Chinese temples and ancient tea warehouses – though, of course, residents and rice fields have been gradually replaced by tourist businesses. Lounge bars, boutique hotels, travel agents and a glut of tailor shops are very much part of the scene here. And yet, down by the market and over on Cam Nam Island, you’ll find life has changed little.

Almost looks like a double negative. So breathtaking. The water, I am ready to touch from just looking. Outstanding, as usual with your work.

Thank You, and you are quite close with the observation of double negative.  It is an HDR image, three images, post processed.  Usually the images are taken on a tripod and then correlated.  to give a stable image.  Unfortunately Mine were hand held and that too on a boat, so the image is a little fuzzy around the edges
