Is he waiting for a mountain to go by so he can climb it? Ok, a cyclist. I usually take my helmet off when i'm off the bike.

I was thinking pretty much the same, I had spotted him from a way off and was expecting him to get onto his bike and ride off or remove the helmet, I think the helmet adds a lot in this image. Either way i would have missed this shot.
Maybe he was just waiting for me to pass and then ride off
