pretty cool, I like those steel wheels with hubcaps vs. the typical gaudy chrome wheels.

You have a really cool car!

Oh dear, I just got chrome wheels

Β

But they were free from a friend, and they're not the new 'bling' type ones, but I think some actual vintage chrome. They don't overpower it, and all my neighbors have been telling me they look better than the old ones...

Β

But thanks for the compliment!

Oh good

My dad has a '68 ford galaxie with steelies and hubcars, but he's got some shelby mustang wheels for it. I don't think they'd be too out of place, it's got a 390.

It'll probably work! The more extravagant the car, the more extravagant the decorations

haha yeah, sorry for all my typos

The wheels are called shelby 500 wheels I think. They look like this:images.search.yahoo.com/images…

They wouldn't look too bad I think

Ah. Well, at least it runs!I love my old pony, but as pretty as it is the thing's a pain in the butt. It really is like a child.

'Awww....look at you...you're so pretty...and your mine...and...*CRASH* @#$!%@ WHAT BROKE NOW!!??'

you lucky son of a .... gun!!!

I wants me one of them, guess my mini 1000 will need to do until I can get one

indigohippie In reply to macguyfromscotland [2010-11-16 23:46:00 +0000 UTC]

Thanks, I love it! Despite all the repairs and the fact that it isn't that comfortable of a driving experience, theres just something about hitting the open country roads in one of these right at sunset

macguyfromscotland In reply to indigohippie [2010-11-16 23:53:34 +0000 UTC]

I have a classic Mini 1000 (yes that tini wee car) but thrashing that thing about, just awesome to mess about with and they are quick, despite the small engine

indigohippie In reply to macguyfromscotland [2010-11-17 06:30:53 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, there is something to be said for zipping around in small cars...they sure maneuver a lot better!

Nice car. And it's RED. Hey Sally, better slow your Mustang down!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

indigohippie In reply to focallength [2010-09-17 20:52:47 +0000 UTC]

Oh, this is a 6-Banger, it's already slow.

I just wish I could get it to the point where I could hits speeds of more than 71 on the freeway going down hill with the petal to the floor.

But yes, it's a looker; and I'm more of a cruiser anyways. I take this on the scenic loop around the lake near my house with my Jim Croce CD and have the time of my life doing 40 mph.

I'm sure there are some performance bits you can find to help. Gotta love Jim Croce.

Beautiful, I love how you got a lot of the scenery around the car and the car in the corner.

indigohippie In reply to HearseGurl [2010-09-13 01:18:23 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! Yeah, the focus of this picture wasn't just supposed to be the car, but the entire experience of wanting to get out and cruise the open highways on a sunny day

They may be long in the tooth, but these ponies never turn down a chance to run.

indigohippie In reply to OrangeBeetle [2010-08-05 03:00:44 +0000 UTC]

Damn right! Mine's a 6 cylinder though, so while it never turns down a chance at the road, it's a little bit more of a trot than a full on run.

What a beauty.

I really like that you've kept it in original and not customised it

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

indigohippie In reply to OakEgg [2010-07-28 04:47:09 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! And as far as the not customizing, my excuse is, of course, that I'm a firm believer in keeping the classics in stock original condition when the actual reason may be something closer to I'm way too broke to hot rod it.

OakEgg In reply to indigohippie [2010-07-28 04:52:33 +0000 UTC]

I really can recognise that excuse, both the official and the real
Beside that one, I could use, but we get in trouble with the law if we as much as change the colour.

These day I've got a black "Mustang" But unfortunately it's the name of a Danish cycle branch as well Guess which version I've got?

indigohippie In reply to Passion4Photos [2009-07-28 04:12:50 +0000 UTC]

I know I'm lucky...my parents bought him for me! (This is a 6 cylinder Mustang, so it's actually not worth that much in pure money, but he'll always be priceless to me! Plus, he still looks just as good as the Big Block 8 cylinder Shelby Mustangs! SO NEENER, NEENER, NEENER! To all the people with the expensive ones XD )

Many happy cruising days ahead!

And thank you for the kind compliment
