Yes they are a mix of FC and Prisma, I use the FC first as they are not as waxy and give a nice soft underpainting for me to work the Prisma's into. Sometime I use a mineral turpintine to blend the really dark colours to make it pop even more

So, do you use the turpentine on the darks and then add more definition on top? I know that usually blends the colors together. I'll have to see about the Faber Castell underlayer. That sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I blend the darks with turps but you have to be very light in touch as it will disturb the layers underneath, and I only use it when there is pleanty of Prisma over the top of the FC, I only use it to smooth the surface and give it a really even smooth looking finish, it also seems to darken just a touch.
