Painted in photoshop CS. Scrolled the web for lava lamp photos to look at, but this one is unique. Which, considering it's a lava lamp, is not a huge accomplishment. But I like it. It stares back at you, too.

Here are some great reference photos though, including the one that struck me the most:

[link] <--- loved loved loved the colours and tried to duplicate them. Although I was originally going to paint an orange and red lava lamp, I have another card to do called "In the Womb" and was afraid the concepts would be too similar.

It is a part of my contribution to the card game "Bad Trip" soon to be in production. It's a card game featuring a really unique play system - it's gonna be fantastic.

Many of my friends and fellow artists are making cards for it and I can't wait to see the final product! A lot of the artists are here on DA, although not all have the art up yet - I hope to see more around here soon! Here are other galleries featuring some Bad Trip artwork:
