I think I'm in love. Have you ever seen or read any of Shotaro Ishinomoris other works? Kikaider? Kamen Rider? The Skullman?

I've mostly only seen them. I've read the original Skullman comic. And I've watched the latest animations of Kikaider, 009-1 and Skullman. Enjoyed them all, especially the Skullman one. I'd like to read the updated Skullman comic, but tracking down the out of print was daunting enough for the Cyborg 009 English. I'd love to read more.

Oh yeah Cyborg 009 is a tricky find. By the skullman comic do you mean the one the anime was based on or the one drawn by Kazuhiko Shimamoto? Which may I note is also insanely awesome. Haven't seen any Kamen Rider then. I wasn't too keen on that kind of show either. But after reading Kamen Rider spirits I kinda got drawn in and now I don't regret it.

I read the original Skullman scanned online somewhere. I would LOVE to get the updated Skullman manga!

Well Shimamoto's and the one the anime is based on take the story in two different directions. Actually Shimamotos contains a cameo of hurricane Joe and there's a Kamen Rider in it who plays an important role.
Well online there is Kamen Rider ZO. A manga adaptation actually drawn by Shimamoto based on one of the movie riders. There's also Kamen Rider Spirits by Kenichi Muraeda which gives you a pretty good run down of things, it was how I got into it.
Yeah I know that stigma around those live action shows but you really have to give it a chance. I did and I realised it was considerably ahead of say super sentai or Ultraman in terms of drama and story. I just knew I had to have faith in one of Ishinomori's most iconic creations.

Well, I don't say I have a stigma against live action shows. I'm just a giant animation junkie. XD I can enjoy an entertaining story in any form.

Yes. But also Shimamoto's other work is excellent like Moeyo (burning) pen, Blazing transfer student and Gyakkyou Nine, they're hot blooded and insanely funny.
Ah I see I'm more from the comics direction myself, which opens alot of doors seeing as alot of great comics and manga may never see an adaptation (Like Osamu Tezuka's "Adolf", well, maybe some day..)
Good stuff, they have the Classic era (Showa) before it stopped around the end of the 80's and the modern (Heisei) run when they brought it back in 2000. Out of the Showa era I'd have to suggest Kamen Rider Black. Out of the Heisei I would seriously recommend Kamen Rider Ryuki. It's not as flashy as some of the others but the story is really quite good.

Yeah, i've been diving into older works available to me. I am reading Pluto now and MW is at my library so I hope to read that soon.

Ishinomori holds the record for the most comic pages drawn by anyone and he has done countless genres. Some argue that he even surpassed Tezuka, the god of manga, and reading the human android kikaider I'm still undecided, which I think says alot about the android seeing as I seriously consider Osamu Tezuka to be one of the greatest minds in manga along with a few others.
Pluto is not actually very old but yes! Naoki Urasawa is one of my favourites. Though I still consider 20th century boys to be one of his best, it changes you when you read it.
