Hi there!It's a Nintendo DS painting of Mont Blanc.
It took me approx. 1.5hours to paint around 2800 brush strokes.
(ya, .. I counted them
)I've uploaded on my website [link] in my nintendo ds gallery a screen capture (1.5mins) of that painting. Showing how I approached it from the beginning to the end.

To demystify the counting of the brushstrokes:
The clip is at 30fps, and on each frame there's one brush stroke, which results in about 2800 frames and strokes.
That's the way how this drawing program works - simply love it ...

Sorry to bug you but how the heck did you do that with a DS? From what I can tell its a homebrew thing, would you mind giving me a link. Also I'm amazed you did all that with the stylus.

There's a program called "colors", it's a homebrew program, so you have to have a flashcart to use it.
I have it and I absolutely love it. It's like a portable sketchbook.

Great work! Thanks for putting the movie clip on your website, it is amazing to watch the painting evolve.. Made me figure out how to get the drw file working on my computer. I bought myself a ds to use colors, love it too and my kids love that I don't nick theirs anymore!

haha, mensch, du hast es schon echt drauf. war schΓΆn zuzusehen, wie du das gemalt hast. sind wirklich schΓΆne farben, und sie wirken sehr natΓΌrlich, gefΓ€llt mir gut!
ich glaub fast, dass ich mich auch so langsam mal nach so nem DS umschauen sollte

ne ne ... ist nicht wirklich teuer zu dem was es leistet.
Hier bekommt mann's um die 140 dollar.
Verglichen zu einem wacom ist das schon recht billig.

You know, I really love these DS sketches of yours because they are such a clear statement that it's not about a trillion layers, a gazillion pixels and fifteen months of work. Just plain and simple sketching with a good eye for mood, balance, texture, light and colour and they seem to turn out great every time. They really remind me that I need to limit my "materials" more so they don't get in the way of maximizing my creativity. For me at least these sketches are one of the most inspirational things on DA.

That's exactly what I like about the DS. This program has no undo function, no layers, no custom brushes .. not even a eraser. Simply a color picker, a pan and zoom tool, a soft and hard brush.
What more would you need to express yourself.
Often people ask me, what kind of brushes I use in Photoshop, what Filter, which Functions etc.
I found those points to be very secondary of importance.
Composition, Design, Values and Colors are the most important things to take care off first.
The DS forces you to work like this, which I found is great!
