Samus gently stroke her hand on Hiro's big trembling hand as he cried silently. She didn't know how to help him, or if she was even helping him, but she didn't want him to feel alone. she couldn't move her legs but she didn't care as she leaned her upper body that could still move onto his skin. Closing her eyes Samus tired her best to have her warmth reach him as she softly whisper reassurance to him."It's ok....let it out, i'm here"
She didn't know if that was what he need to hear, but his hand react as it gently push back against her lean. slightly moving her body back, She didn't care for the pain shock wave he unintentionally sent through her chest. He was her main focus right now, nothing was going to stop her from being there for him. his hand was cold against her cheek, and the trembles it did were like an light earthquake to her. Samus didn't know how much time she spent stroking his hand with her eyes closed.
But when she felt the trembles started to recede, she opened to look up at the giant. He was slouched forward head cast downwards. He wasn't crying anymore, but his eyes were still wet. He was staring at her almost like he was a distance away from where the two were. He sniffed his nose causing it to wiggle, while looking embarrassed while speaking sadly to her.
"sorry you had to see that Samus"
His eyes looked away from her, as he tired to shifted his hand, almost like to signal Samus to get off him. But she didn't relent from her spot, instead The Bounty Hunter nuzzled her head deeper against his skin. Causing his eyes to look to the ceiling while she respond back to the giant child
"Don't be, I'm here for you. Now may i ask what is the matter and how i can help?"
Samus could see the boy shake his head, while following up with
"It doesn't matter it's already over"
Samus could see him bite his bottom lip as he sniff his nose again.
"Judging from the tears you just gave, I don't think it is"
Samus waited for a response from Hiroto, as she saw him try to regain his composure. The small woman could see his body tighten before his shoulders slump down. Before he spoke retelling the tale of what had happened to his family in the past months. Samus listened closely to each of his words, but she didn't stop comforting him. If this was enough to bring him to tears, then it must have been hard from him to tell her. She learned of how his father had an affair with his male boss in his parents bed, while Hiro was just down the hall. All way to the recent events, By the time he had finished the two were maintaining eye contact with each other.
The look of sadness wasn't completely gone from his eyes, but it was fading the talk was helping. Maybe he keep it bottle inside, trying to solider on with it. Pretending everything was fine, because if he thought that, it would be fine. Instead he not only bottled his sadness inside, but also his other emotions. Samus ponder that thought as silenced filled the air, as Hiro stared at her. Breaking the silence with questions about her this time.
"What about you Samus how are you so small? And where are you from?"
Samus paused while tilting her head, before bursting into laughter. Causing the giant to look embarrassed while turning away. Samus noticing his reaction quickly stated
"Sorry Hiro, it's just not everyday you are question why you are the size of an toy!"
Hiro managed a weak faint smile at her response as she continued.
"As far as i know i am normal sized, well normal to me. You are just giant, as for where i am from. I am from the planet Zebes Home to the Chozo, were was they're all gone now. In a way I am the only one left as far as i know. as far how i ended up here, i had to flee from a planet called Yi-85. It had seem to be habit to giant metroids almost half the size of my gunship over there they had caused major damage to my ship combined with the damage from jumping through two wormholes ill equipped."
Samus turned back from looking at her ship to the giant face of a confused boy with his head at an angle. She couldn't help but smile as he slowly asked
"so you are an alien?"
Samus couldn't help but think that he sounded like that word was so.... Alien to him. She knew it was a big universe but with almost all race that have been documented to be capable of space travel. How did he sound like he never seen another different life form not of this planet?
"Yes"
Hrio quickly followed up
"but how is that possible? the only planet in this system are our sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury, our planet earth, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus. And there haven't been any signs of life other then ours?"
It was Samus' turn to be confused, she knew it was a big space. But she never heard of any of those planets, and no signs of other life. How was that possible with the tech advances of life as a whole? Then she froze and start to shake as an thought enter her mind, moving her body and hand off of Hiro's giant calm hand. What if that worm hole from before had sent her to another reality. What if that was the reason also why she was so tiny, was that why the metroids from before were so huge. was that giant dead body eaten by them, actually a normal human and she was just shrunk? Her ship wasn't fit for wormhole travel, but did that mean anything was possible since she couldn't naviagate it properly? How would she get back to normal let alone back to Yi-85? What if she ended up in a worse spot then before?
Suddenly Samus felt something rub against the side of her head. Flinching from her instincts made by years of fighting for her life Samus jerked away causing her to hold her ribs in pain.
"Samus what happened are you ok. I'm sorry i said anything bad"
Opening her right eye Samus had noticed the right hand she was leaning on from before was gone. In it's place was a different giant hand with it's palm facing her it's index finger pulling away from her hair. She noticed that she was sitting in between the two arms of the giant boy as he leaned closely concerned for her. His young face was only feet away from her small body, she could smell the scent of tomato sauce coming from his breath.
"nothing i just got lost in thought"
Samus replied almost coldly causing her to regret her normal tone of voice. She watched as the kid pulled away with a hurt look leaned back against his giant red chair. His eyes didn't meet hers causing her to hate what she just said as she kicked herself.
"I'm sorry it's just you froze for a while and then when i touched you. You looked like you were in pain"
Samus felt her heart ache from his hurt tone, she didn't know how to make up for it.
"No i'm sorry i didn't mean to upset you. it's just i was thinking about how i ended up trapped here, and if i had a chance leave this planet"
Samus felt her heart break, when instead of Hiro giving any other reaction to his current expression. He looked at her even more hurt while saying.
"you're leaving?"
The small bounty hunter knew her mistake, This child is current feeling the effects of what to him was an parent abandoning him. And she just said she was leaving him too. She didn't know how to respond to the giant staring at her with sadden eyes, She could only looked down at her blue zero suit covering her legs in shame.
Samus didn't know what to say, But she didn't know why. Maybe it was because Hiro told her about his life, or maybe because he looked so confused at what was normal to her. But she started to tell the story of her life to him. Starting with her earliest memoires of her human parents and their deaths to the space pirates and ridley. To the Choizo taking her in and infusing her dna with theirs, How her foster parent trained her in their ways. All the major events of her life to the point of her crash landing on planet Yi-85.
Through her life story Samus was able to bring Hiro back to his usual self once again. And at one point she found herself resting against his left hand. The Giant Hiro resting his chin on the wooden desk just a few feet away from her. His eyes filled with wonder at her tales as the massive globes stared at her. The time seemed to past the two by quickly until it was almost the middle of the night. At that point Samus was snuggling against the comfortable large palm of Hiro as they smiled at each other.
That was until Samus who had forgotten all about the pain in her body felt an intense wave return. Causing her to lean forward clutching her ribs again.
"Samus what's wrong, are you okay!?"
Samus was barely able to focus on what Hiro said to her. She didn't want to tell him, that he had crushed her leg and rib bones when he stepped on her. Actually she even had intentionally left that part out of her story that she told him. Thinking fast Samus made a lie in the heat of the moment.
"Nothing it's just during the crash landing I broke a few of my bones, don't worry i will be fine."
Samus hoped he was able to buy her lie, but she was surprised by the hand she was resting on just a few seconds ago. Was joined by the giant right hand as the two scooped her body up into their palms. Samus was reminded by the gentle touch of the giantess mother from before when she had picked up Samus. She didn't feel any pain now just like she didn't than. Samus found herself brought close to the giant face of hiro. Her shrunken body to his eye level as the two eyes looked at her in concern.
"No it's not fine your bones are broken! What can i do to help you!?"
Samus was touched by the frantic tone Hiro was using, thinking smugly to herself
"How cute he thinks a few broken bones is enough to put an end to me"
Shaking her head at the adorable giant holding her with care. She couldn't help but smile as she spoke softly trying to calm him down from his panic.
"Don't worry Hiro, I just need to make sure they're properly pressured and apply a makeshift splint to let them hopefully heal."
Samus thought that would have been enough to calm the boy down. Instead she found her body rising through the air as Hiro stood up off his chair suddenly. As he begun to walk towards the door of his room with her in tow while talking fast to her.
"Ok what do you need for that!"
Samus rolled her eyes at his panic voice while smirking and shaking her head. Causing her blond ponytail to rock slowly as she couldn't believe that such a small injury where she comes from was causing such a reaction from the giant.
