well as Ichi is Niteiru's controller they started to spent a lot of time together. As the time passes Ichi starts to feel more and more confortable around Niteiru.Niteiru is a nice person and doesn't care what Ichi or any other person did in their past , he is very calm and quiet and that calm of his calms Ichi as well.Slowly but sure Ichi falls for Niteiru even though Niteiru doesn't show a sign that he mihgh share his feelings but that doesn't matter for him as long as he can still spend time with him. So as Ichi falled slowly but sure for him he started making up all kind of excuses to spend time with him and soon they become friends.As they talked he discovered that Niteiru had a big love that he couldn't get over, looking back in time he rememberd his wife and how he was crazy in love with her but she didn't loved him back like that. She got involved with him cos she thought that she will eventually fall for him but that never happened. When he asked her to marry him she refused him , he then forced her to marry him that's how in love he was with her but the truth is that he never knew how it feels to be loved or at last accepted. Niteiru was the only one except Yasei who accepted him as he is but he know that Niteiru is still in love with that person even if he is not alive anymore . So in other words they are both chained by their past relationships even though Ichi want to get rid of that painful memory and get closer to Niteiru wich he loves but he knows that is never going to happen not only because of Niteiru's feelings for his last boyfriend but by the fact that he is a renegat assasin and Niteiru is the future Yorukage king.
