Some fun ideas for some demonic mimics I came up with, based on my Doom rewrite fanfic "Day of Wrath." These aren't necessarily featured in my project, I just thought they'd be cool concepts.
These would probably only be a minor annoyance for the Slayer in games like Doom 2016/Eternal, but for human survivors or even in slower-paced and more difficult survival-horror mods, these would be a pretty significant threat.

Health potion mimic - Inspired by honeypot ants. If subdued, can be thrown as a living grenade that feeds on enemies and swells into a volatile cyst.
Medikit mimic - Inspired by silkworms. If subdued, can be thrown similar to Snarks in Half Life, as a living weapon that chases enemies down and explodes on death in a burst of sticky movement-slowing silk.
Mega Health mimic - If harvested, grants a temporary health/armor boost that gradually decays, like equivalent Mega Healths in FPS multiplayers? I don't know, I didn't quite have a good application for this one XP. Maybe it actually lowers your health but randomly grants another buff, like a boost to movement speed or damage dealt.
Blursphere mimic - Inspired by bobbit worms and antlion larvae. Will launch a surprise attack that will instakill the player if they attempt to collect the blursphere, but if they remotely shoot the "eyestalk" at a distance, they can collect said blursphere. This false "partial invisibility powerup" will instead grant the psychic aura of a random environmental object, effectively disguising the player as a prop. Can be a useful disguise but may also be unreliable.
