Does anyone know if Marvel has an official explanation why none of the other Avengers weren't involved in the storyline? Cap could easily make a phone call to get help from one of them. I suppose one could argue Thor 2 and Ironman 3 takes place at the same time, but what about Banner or Hawkeye?

The whole movie took place over three days, so there was never really a point where Steve slowed down enough to think about that. Also, Hawkeye wasn't included because the writers didn't think that with everyone else involved they'd be able to give him enough screen time.

I understand that sometimes sequels can't include everyone from a previous film for whatever reason(budget or scheduling conflicts), but a throwaway line about Hawkeye being out in the middle of an assignment would've helped fill in some of these gaps in storytelling logic. Hell, Ironman 3 kinda made fun of the idea when Tony asked Rhodes where he was when NYC was invaded.

I think the scene with that line got cut for some reason. I know that Marvel's said Hawkeye and Banner will have fairly big roles in Age of Ultron.
