One piece OC, Dina the Sun Shark.

Dina is a strong fishwoman, with a masculine build. Therefore, she is often mistaken for a man, as not only she has observable muscle, her chest is not very large. Additionally, she ties it up tighter to have more agility as a fighter and swimmer. The strawhats thought she was a guy until pretty much the end of Alabasta, where she had to untie her chest so her lungs could breath more freely as dry air is pretty much her biggest weakeness. Though she does dress up as a guy, she has a major complex over being called a man - which leads to her either yelling or punching (taking fully out) the people who call her that. Another large complex she has, is over her love for (especially furry) animals and as a true vegetarian, cannot bare the sight of meat on her plate - ending up with a lot of fights with Luffy over this matter, which they settle later on by her giving him all her meat whenever it was present on her plate.

Being a fishwoman, as can be seen from her tattoo on her stomach, she was part of the Sun Pirates when she was young. Leading to her increasing hate towards humans after the incident with Fisher Tiger. However, unlike her father and for respect for Jinbe, she tried to get along with humans, leading to her goal at the present - to become strong enough in order to show example to other fishmen, as well as be able to protect her homeland and its princess, who carried the hope of achieving peace between humans and fishmen/merfolk.

Dina swam to the Strawhats, after Ace could not stop bragging about his younger brother's victory over her dad, Arlong. (Yes, she was part of the Whitebeards before she joined up with the Strawhats ) It just happened to be a stormy day (yes, stormy >) and Luffy happened (not because i felt like making him drown xD) to fall out of the ship due to his carelessness. Dina saved him, knowing he was a devil fruit user and as hopeless as Ace when it came to swimming (plus, having Ace after her head did not seem like the best idea ever).

The next day it was again sunny and everyone on the ship was coming out onto the deck for some fresh air. Dina, at the time was munching on a carrot while lying around until the ship's crewmates would finally show up. When the strawhats finally noticed her presence, they all stood in fighting positions. Luffy asked what is it that 'he' wanted (they mistook her for a man, duh) on their ship. Dina replied straight to the point "I heard about your victory over Arlong, so I came to see who was it that took out my old man". The crew got shocked at this statement, specifically Nami. Dina finished chewing the last piece of the carrot, when she added "Wanted to also thank you for doing the dirty job for me. Fishmen already don't have such a great reputation, and that pervert of an old man was making it worse. "'is it. Bye, good luck on the rest of the journey." She sighed and turned around to jump into the ocean, having delivered everything she wanted to. Everyone was bewildered at the cool attitude of the dude who was munching on a carrot. They got so astonished that it slipped their minds how she stole the vegetable from their kitchen, as she could not have possibly had it in her own possession during her swim to their boat.

Luffy, however, recovered from this quicker than the others, as another thought crossed him. "Sec. Was it you, who saved me yesterday?" "Oh, that? Hmm..yeah, I guess. I don't think it is called saving, rather than preventing myself to be kicked by your brother." Before finishing the sentence, Dina was already mid-air. The sight of her was gone. However, Luffy got so shocked at the recall of his brother, that he could not help but jump after her. Of course, drowning yet again. Dina was not sure if the rest of the crew would go help him or would she have to save him yet again. She wondered for some time, having swam around a mile already from the boat. However, seeing the slow reaction of the crewmates, she got pissed and swam at full speed to go save the little brother of her friend and commander. With her strength of a fishwoman in water, she threw him out of the water, making him fly slightly into the air before he landed into the boat.

"Are you crazy, stupid human?!" She yelled at him, showing her sharp shark teeth that resembled those of her dad's.
"Well, you saved me, right? So it is all good." Luffy smiled at her.
"No it is not! How did you know I was going to???" Little tears began to crawl out into her eyes, as she began to understand that the level of hopelessness this guy was at exceeded even Ace's.
"But you did. Twice now." The grin on the Stawhats captain's face gleamed in all its glory. Nami, on the other hand, was silently staring, not sure what to make out of this situation.
"That is because your brother will have my head if I didn't! You know, one of the reasons I took this voyage to your ship was to get away from his annoying 'grace'." Dina's eyes rolled as she emphasized the word 'grace' to make it sound sarcastic.
"So, I didn't mishear you! You know my brother, Ace?!" Luffy exclaimed in happiness, glitters filling the air around him from his excitement.
"I think you are missing the point here, mister." The fishwoman said, looking in Nami's direction, "My connection to Ace is probably the least of your crew's concern." After such a statement, Luffy noticed Nami's expression as well.
"I am guessing you are the human girl Arlong was using?"
Everyone could see that the navigator tried to battle hard against her tears coming out.
"I take that as a yes." Dina stated, sighing slightly.

"I can so much as only apologize to you on his behalf for what he has done to you, but I will do no more or no less, as you do not know his history, nor mine. He was an idiot, alright. If you hate me because of our blood relations, do." Dina smiled slightly, walking towards Nami and then putting her hand on the girl's head, added, "But I must ask of you not to hate all fishmen because of it. Not all of us are like him. Some are real sweethearts."

"Oi, do not think you can touch Nami-swan just like that!!!" Sanji attacked the fishwoman, who ducked by jumping of the way.

"W-wait, Sanji!" The navigator called out, making the cook all bubbles of hearts and joy as he loved hearing his name being called out of that lovely mouth. "He tried to be nice. And, you!" The owner of the lovely lips pointed a finger towards Dina, "I am not so low as to be prejudice against people I do not know just based on the type of person I happened to have bad experiences with!"

Dina could not help but smile, "That great. I guess now I really have done everything I wanted to. See ya, probably already not on as friendly terms next time." Again she jumped before fully finishing her sentence. Luffy had none of that, because he jumped after her again. Dina closed her eyes and wondered if she was ever going to be able to leave this idiot ever again.

"ARE YOU CRAZY?!" She yelled louder at him this time, smoke coming out of her slowly as her blood began to boil.
"Ahahaha, you are a pretty nice yourself. Wanna join our crew?" Luffy laughed, looking at the fishwoman's double coloured (blueish) grey face turn red from anger.

"How about no, shorty!" She replied, slowly giving up on reason with this guy.
"I'm Monkey D. Luffy." Luffy began to jump up and down, as he already made up his mind on Dina joining them.
"Aannnddd, you are still short. Well, I'm Dina." Dina answered, placing her hands in her pockets, as she thought she looked more badass in that pose.
"Wait..Like a dinosaur?"
"like DinA!" She felt like pushing him into the water so he would drown for all she cared at this point.
"Well, you definitely look like one with your height and back fin as well as your hair." Someone from the crew muttered, having a death glare being send in their direction. Letting them realise that Dina's face could become scarier, adding to the weird skin tones and sharp teeth.
"..That's boring" Luffy ignored the threatening glare send towards his comrades.
"Do you want a piece of me, pathetic human?" The aura around the tall girl was becoming as dark as her first skin tone.
"I am very strong." The smile on the captain's face seemed very convincing of his absolute ignorance to his surroundings.
"..however, you drown."
"You'll get me out, right? Crewmate?"
"..." Dina began to think that she should just swim away. However, that did not seem to work, as her conscience was getting the better of her.
"Fine, I might join you for some time, depending in what direction you are going." She gave up, thinking it might also be interesting to see what Ace's little oh-so-praised little brother was like in real life.

"Well, we want to get to Alabasta for now."
"Hmm, I see...then I can stay until you reach that at least, since me and Ace decided to meet there to begin with."

And so, Dina joins their crew, as her gut feeling was correct in her never leaving that crew ever again.
