You should really get two, ideally a male and a female. Ferrets mate for life, and a couple will be a lot happier and less prone to mischief. A lone ferret, if not given enough attention, can be a destructive force if it gets out. And trust me, it will get out.

I went to the pet store (Polly's Pet Shop) and decided to ask an employee if she'd let us hold a ferret. Well, she agreed. And when she tried to get one ferret out of their hold, 4 ran out. Poor girl. She had another employee try to help her. I guess it worked out in the end, since all four of us got our own ferret and talked for about 30 minutes about random stuff...

Not enough money. They were a little over $100 because they were descented.

Keep an eye out on Kijiji and other local sites, we got ours when the woman who owned them was moving to another country and couldn't take them with her, but sometimes people adopt them and few months later they get a live in girlfriend or leave for college and have to find a home for them. You can also put up your own add saying to are willing to give a ferret a good home.

Well, the problem is that I only want to own one pet. Because of all the other things I do, one being college, I wouldn't have enough time or energy to take care of two pets. So I think just one would be enough. And if I get a ferret, I'm sure I can raise it to get along with my family's dachshund. If I want to see a bearded dragon, I guess I can go to my friend's house to see his. It's interesting watching him feed it crickets too.
