Description
The second in my food series but actually the last idea that came to me...too bad it didn’t need all of my food cutouts, why does that always happen to me. The barf is a rainbow since I’ve seen everyone else doing that and I wanted to show why it could be one since food has lots of needed nutrition. Hehe even though not all of it is healthy in this particular rainbow, people need to eat to survive, so I can understand why some eating disorders can shrink a person’s brain. I thought it would be a cool idea but I just had to ruin it didn’t I... by adding another unneeded arm in the background, well at least her hair looks decent.Hey if you really like this feel free to check out the rest of my food collages->

Hey thanks, for this I used markers, and colored pencils. Also magazine clippings for her hair and arm and the little bits of food.

How on earth did you do this? Its not just cut outs, surely - but the whole appeal of collage for me was the lack of drawing talent required to partake! eep!

Aww thanks! I think doing a collage is like anything else in art..you should come up with an idea and plan it out. I usually cutout as many things as I possibly can that could be usable for my idea. Then before I glue I rearrange them on the empty paper so my placement is already planned out. Or like with this collage I drew most of the design first then glued on the scraps from my other three food themed collages.
But it's not like collage just can't be cutouts either, I think it's more a matter of how they shape your final concept. Or how you make them pop out more, rarely do I leave a cutout alone after it's glued on. I'm always adding more contrast with permanent markers/pen or adding layer upon layer until I think it's just right.
