When you are slightly awake during REM sleep, you see elements such as this on top of the normal eyesight. You would know about these visions right? "Insomno-lepsy"?

The funny thing is that I have mild narcolepsy, I skip all the other sleep stages and crash right into REM sleep all night long, making for some interesting and very real dreams,

The many effects of narcolepsy, at least your sleep is quite reparing I suppose. Although, have you ever woken up and being paralized while you can see everything while feeling you cant breathe? Sleep paralysis and its visions are not an uncommon thing in mild narcolepsy.
