True words, man! It was Robotech that truly prepped me for becoming an anime fan. The "New Generation" was full of great mecha and heroes who were way ahead of the curve in beating the apocalypse on its own terms in their own motley-crew fashion. Β

Yeah, Robotech really was the 'gateway drug' to a brave new world of mind-altering anime! Just imagine young Brent's surprise when he saw the VHS of 'Akira' and thought... "Hey, this looks like Robotech, I think I'll rent it and see what it's about."

Been there, done that, loved the spectacle. My first exposure to non-Robotech anime was The Wanna-Bes, Outlanders, Fight! Iczer-1, Project A-ko, Macross: Do You Remember Love, and Megazone 23. Needless to say I was hooked after that.Β

I guess it's just been to long.Β I do remember that Robotech, like Voltron tried to do, was comprised of several somewhat similar looking but different anime kind of forced together with a new, original story, and I can remember the first part and some of the second, but not this.Β Shame really, this looks interesting.

You can buy the whole series, plus the episodes from the cancelled sequel Robotech II: The Sentinels, and the movies that they made (which includes voicework from such great performers as Mark Hamill and Bryan Cranston)

Just reconfirmed, while Netflix says it's 1 season, it's the entire run of the series.Β The Invid Invasion generation of the story starts with episode 61.

I prefer using photos as backgrounds myself. They're much easier to use and I think I suck at drawing backgrounds.
