ft. 069 Maussik  & 043 Fahari

Mauk woke up sore to high hell, every joint creaking in protest as he heaved himself up from the makeshift nest he had dug out in the snow. It seemed to have snowed a bit overnight as well, a soft dusting of white covering the other Suka as they rest. They all started to wake as Mauk began stretching, annoyed at the ach in his bones. Resettling into the divot in the ground beside Fahari, Mauk yawned and waited for whoever was leading this part to show themselves.

As if on cue, a small mottled blue and white female began barking out into the chilly morning air. With a prod to Fahari’s side (fucker was still asleep), Mauk listened in closely to the blue female’s words. “Aye there, it seems ya made it this far then, huh? Look around - be proud of ya’self...”

Although Mauk didn’t tune out the female’s words or directions, there was a suspension of disbelief over what they wanted him to do - chase hogs? Plotting silently, he began whispering hints of his plan to Fahari. It wasn’t a bad one - two suka could do better than a single one alone, and if they worked together and could corner a pair of hogs, well, that made chasing unnecessary, right? And so Mauk got up quietly and trotted off towards the beach while the blue female were on the last ends of her speech, circling around the hogs until he was opposite of Fahari. It was obvious when the female finished speaking - there was all but a storm of fur and movement as the remaining suka began to run towards his direction (and also she howled).

Distinct with his near purple coat, Mauk met Fahari’s eyes with a confident grin. He crouched low into the snow, away from the path of the panicking hogs to prevent being trampled but still close enough to ambush them.

He snorted as he watched Fahari pick out a smaller, most likely juvenile hog to herd in his direction. The process wasn’t too difficult at all- although the juvenile seemed panicked, it hadn’t broken into an all out run, but a quick trot. For a few more seconds Mauk waited, until the hog was close enough for him to be able to see it’s whiskers, and then he got up.

Balking, the hog seemingly realized that yes, it had indeed fucked up. Amused, Mauk motioned towards Fahari, urging him to pin the hog down while Mauk removed the flag tied around its body. It went relatively smoothly; though the hog squealed like it was being murdered and it’s organs ripped out (they were really quite gentle).

With the first flag attained, the pair began to look for a second hog; though the only remaining hog with a flag was almost twice the previous ones size. Glancing at Fahari, Mauk sighed and began trotting towards the pig. This one… didn’t go as smoothly as the first. The hog, for all it’s size and large tusks, ran like the first one, but much quicker, to the point where Fahari almost couldn’t trap it between the pair of them and the cold waves of the sea. Pinning down this beast was another matter; it required both of them and they only barely grabbed the flag before it flipped over and turned towards Mauk with hate filled eyes.

With their precious prizes, Mauk and Fahari fled from the angered hog, snickering as they headed past the other struggling Suka and up towards Skullhead.
