This is a really nice candid photo, the expression is so genuine - and the edit gives this a warm earthy feel - I'm sure the fairy Twig would be quite happy to see this

I'm glad the edit came out alright. It was the product of my many repeated attempts to cover up the fact that my ISO was significantly too low for the light at that time of day. That's what I get for setting the ISO on automatic in low light.

That's pretty weird, usually the ISO kicks way up in low light to give you the fastest shutter speed possible - looking at the shot again, I guess it is slightly blurred, but that adds to the sense of motion. Though, seems you found and fixed that problem with your photo of the well postured flower (which btw way has good color and line)

And normally it does, but sometimes it sends it plummeting in low light, and all I can think is it must be catching light somewhere that is confusing it. The well postured flower was in low light, and the ISO stayed low, but it came out sharp as heck. I can't take the credit for correcting anything; the camera is a fickle creature. Twig the Fairy is actually a newer shot, which seems to indicate that I'm gradually forgetting how to use my camera.

She is the most adorable person I've met, and she just is a fairy. If I ever saw her in normal clothes on a street somewhere, I'd think it was an imposter.

Twig the Fairy is awesome. She's not just a performer at the Carolina Renaissance Fair, but at loads of other fairs too. She's ridiculously photogenic, and she's just about the most adorable person I've ever met. The only downside is she's usually swarmed by children.
