Hey i just read your conversation with NeverRider...You are very right in those things that you said about how a person should do inorder to go to heaven and be saved!!1...I have read some of the Bibble Passages that strongly supports that when you confesss that you are a sinner and that you open and let jesus into your heart you will be saved from eternal damnation...but other people are just too dumb or lazy to believe that!!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to gromyko [2006-11-18 17:47:39 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but it doesn't say to let Jesus into your heart but in Romans ch.10....

Rom 10:8 But what does it say? "The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the Word of faith which we proclaim) Deuteronomy 30:12-14.

Rom 10:9 Because if you confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth, and*** believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead***
, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation.

I think that many churchs confuse people with that these days.
Many are decieved and held captive at the will of Satan, so they are blinded to the truth.
Thanks so much!

you need to be baptized to go to heaven right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to NeverRider [2006-10-20 06:04:23 +0000 UTC]

No, you must be born again, and that means...to be washed in the blood of Jesus, whom takes away your sins( Saved by faith). Baptism is a representation of dying to self and being raised with Christ in a new life. Have more questions? Note me anytime, I'd be glad to help

i thought it said that you have to be baptized, i think someone told me that once

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to NeverRider [2006-10-20 06:08:00 +0000 UTC]

They are right, the Lord says that a Christian must be baptized in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism does not save or get you to heaven, but it is an instruction from the Lord, to believers to be baptized.

NeverRider In reply to inthename [2006-10-20 06:09:39 +0000 UTC]

ya thats what someone told me you have to do to go to heaven, so then like why should you get baptized if it doesnt matter? my friends been telling me i need to get baptized.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to NeverRider [2006-10-20 06:14:42 +0000 UTC]

The only way to get to heaven, is to repent, believe the gospel (having faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior), and then to be baptized as instruction from the Lord to be born of water and spirit. After you get baptized, God sends you the Holy Spirit to be your helper, to bring things of God into remembrance to you, and also to speak to you from God+ many more gifts that the Holy Sprit works through you.

oh ok, so you would recommend baptism?

Alredhead In reply to NeverRider [2006-12-10 15:45:19 +0000 UTC]

Baptism is a sign of your rebirth. So if you are baptized, then you are telling other believers and the world that you are reborn in Christ.

According to the bible (John 3:16-21), you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Then you can be baptized, which as Inthename said, this is a physical symbol of washing away your sins spiritually (Matthew 3:13-15).

Well yes , after someone repents and believes the gospel of Jesus Christ. My signature, is all that is requiered to go to heaven, and there are alot of scripture references i could give you that would help you too. I have some blogs where i talk about God alot, and also, have a Bible Blog if your interested...it has the whole New testament on it. let me know OK?

NeverRider In reply to inthename [2006-10-20 06:23:17 +0000 UTC]

so like where should i get baptized? who has the power to do that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to NeverRider [2006-10-20 06:27:35 +0000 UTC]

Any Born again Christian has the power to baptize but there are some who have that responsibility, like pastors and such , but as for where, would be a bible believing church, I would suggest Baptist, but that is just a suggestion. As long as a preacher baptizes you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, it is God's power that will baptize you.

like my friend told me that jesus gave authority to apostles and they passed it on so i want to get baptized by someone who got it from them. who has that, catholic?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to NeverRider [2006-10-20 06:42:10 +0000 UTC]

I don't agree with the Catholic doctrine and methods according to scriptures, but Jesus has given the authority to any Born again Christian whom has the Holy Spirit of God.

NeverRider In reply to inthename [2006-10-20 06:57:16 +0000 UTC]

my friend tells me that someone that has had the priesthood passed to them in an unbroken line from christ himself is the only person who has authority to baptize, and i guess that sounds right, because if everybody could do it then whos to say what the right and wrong way to do it is?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

inthename In reply to NeverRider [2006-10-20 07:14:27 +0000 UTC]

That is unbilical and untrue. I see what your saying though, but the bible gives many references to baptism, so it is all laid out in scripture. It is not what sounds right, but it is what God's word says that makes it true, to me anyways. Many catholics teachings do not line up with scripture also, they teach the catholic ways according to Popes and suposed visions and visitations that the Popes have suposedly had. Thier teachings also change from year to year including the catechism, anyways, too long to go into it right now, but like I said, I would be more than happy to give scripture refernces to you about baptism. Thank You for this conversation.
