Description The butterflies of the sea. Found fluttering along the sandy edge of the river, revealing all their glory.

My first of probably a few submissions involving these guys. I saw them while taking a short shore break from canoeing over the weekend. There were hundereds of these guys laying all over the edge of the river. So i took some home, boiled them so they didnt smell like fishies and then proceeded to photo them.

I had to wet the insides to get the gloss effect, dry they werent as colorful.

+20 brightness
+45 contrast

No other color manipulations.

Id really like to hear what people think of this as well as ideas for what else to do with them. Thanks for looking, C&C always appreciated!!!

Enjoy.

Whoa... From the thumbnail I thought they WERE butterflies, but closer up, they almost look like ears (icky). Love how you've arranged them. I didn't know this type of mollusk existed!

The tittle puzzled me, because in the thumb they really look like butterflies
Very original idea. That beautiful gloss calls for some nice close compositions. As is, it has the classic look of those butterflies boards so the illusion is perfect. I'm waiting for your work on those closes
