Description
... and the colour of her scales turned from red to blue as the water rise and fell...
Charvilokkha, the first tidal dragoness, once carved her observations in a stone plate. She was the first of a long row of tidal dragons, passing her gift of controlling the tides down to her descendants for generations. Her stone plate was one of the most honoured artifacts of the dragon culture... until it was stolen... and was never found again.
Her and her brothers descendants still continue the great duty given to them: controlling the weather. A Master of the winds and a Master of the tides, always with colour-changing scales.
A first design of my dragon Charvilokkha, a character from a story I write. This is my first design for her and I like it (even if I'm not totally happy about the proportions of her face, but... oh well). This time, I wanted to draw as real looking sand and a crushing wave as possible, so I studied many pictures of sand (yeah, that sound pretty awesome, huh? But trust me, sand can be really interesting). And of course, the wave. Ooh boy. That one was hard but I extremely like the outcome. With a bit of acrylic paint splashed over it, it looks nice. Being honest, I mustered everything I have struggles with in this artwork; waves, ocean, sand, clouds... it was a very good practice.
Hope you enjoy it!
Charvilokkha and the story @ me, please don't steal.
