Description Yo! I'm back, to show everyone a new coloring or shading technique that--in my opinion--brings life into art!

Well, I was going to do a simple comic with Katara. However, I got sidetracked because of the shading.

1.) What I did first is the bare bones of most drawings, the line art. It doesn't have to be perfect (I know mine isn't) but at least, make sure most of the little gaps are closed up; it'll save you a lot of time later because the paint bucket won't fill in unwanted areas. This will remain as its own layer, so it doesn't get buried and so it still gives you a solid foundation.

2.) The second step is usually my favorite. I went around with my pen tool and outlined all the areas that I wanted to have a shadow in it, the filled them with black using the paint bucket.

3.) Thirdly, To get the smooth effect in the second picture I merely blended the black and the white together, giving me a nice finish using both the blur tool and the blending tool!

4.) I moved on to picking my basic colors on a new layer so it wouldn't interfere with my gray tones.

5.) Set the flat color layer to multiply, then turn on your gray tones and you get a nicely shaded picture!

Hope you try it out if you haven't already. Goodluck and have fun!
