I've just finished this angel painting called The Blessing. Angels do not have to be associated with a particular religion or indeed any religion at all. They can be symbolic of a thought or wish, and seen as guardian figures. Here I painted the angel holding a sword to symbolise a request for protection and strength. I hope you like her
Thanks to `mjranum-stock for the use of his photograph as reference when painting the figure. It was very helpful to help make a natural pose.

This is definetely one of my very favourites from Your works, but it also been hardest to handle for me being an atheist and always attached angels to Christianity. Because of the name of the work I first saw this particular piece as asking a blessing from higher power, so I kind of wrote completely another story for her in my mind. I love what You wrote about angels, and it gave me a whole new point of view to the subject. Getting back to the picture - I like everything in it but most of all the look on her face. I've always found it very focused and determined, like she's clearing her mind from everything else but the task; to protect someone or someones. It's a picture that calms - at least for me - troubled mind.

I love the lighting falls so gently and the dress's fabric and the way it falls. This just truly beautiful...reminds me of a book called "Katherine" I read once.

What an incredible image, so nice. so Very wonderful. I have just spend an hour or so looking at only a few of your pieces. How you make me wish I could draw a curved line without it looking like a tree with the limbs cut off. Beautiful. Although, angels are not just a symbol. They are very real, and nothing like humans. They are creatures created by God.

Fictional angels don't have to be associated. Real ones are another story
The background reminds me of Zelda's Temple of Time (sry, I'm such a game head!) Your rendering of values, body volume and fabric is certainly reminiscent of the old masters too. This has such an atmosphere is destiny, fellowship and protection. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Holy stunning! It's the wings, correct? Wow, I've seen angel art, but hardly any so awesome as the wings portrayed in such grand detail and scale. The black and white composition works fine with color being only her skin.
Your images really bring out the mythicism that somehow lacks with other artists. The use of light, tone, aura, magic, pose, symbolism, color, and message works for your angels. Just truly majestic...yes, that's it...you add grace and majesty to your work.
Have you ever thought of making statues or figures of these angels? Your females have a great feminine beauty that some angel figures lack. There are some artists, sculptors, or companies that make figures. Send me a note if interested and perhaps I could hook you up with a few names.

This is really, really beautiful! I love how big you drew her wings, it bothers me when people draw an angel or something and the wings don't look like the could actually lift it.
