Description
A digital illustration based on my recent travels in Turkey, specifically the region of Cappadocia which is famous for its hot air balloon industry. We stayed in a town called Göreme while we were there. As you can see, I was inspired to paint the many "fairy chimney" rock formations that have worn into shape over the years and that characterize the landscape. The region abounds with these rock formations, many which had manmade caves carved into them and were used as domiciles for generations.

This painting is based on a photograph I took. A motorcyclist was zooming buy at the perfect moment, framed by the backdrop. This painting took about 4 hours using Procreate on iPad. I'd love to hear what you think!
