A very beautiful example of fractal patterns in the nature.
I love it! (:

now there's a natural fractal right there. these things are just fascinating. ever tried to take a photo of a snowflake?

i love these fractals ;
it almost looks like a negative
compsotion is great (and i know it's hard to shoot, i've tried already!)

Hmm, how to explain... basically a fractal is a mathmatical formula that makes recurring patterns... these patterns seem to appear in nature a lot.. try this link [link] I have a neat little fractal program if you're interested?

thank you very much for this - had a look at the link and it helped me understand what you were talking about - brilliant - always wanted to know what they were!!!

After seeing this I almost immediately told my lady friend that we needed to buy some cauliflower the next time we went to the store. Don't be surprised if you see an image of it sometime down the road in my gallery!
Brilliant execution. It is very other-worldly...I never would have guessed what it was. I imagine the aperture was f/16-f/22 given the magnification and great DOF.
Very well done!

I realized that today when looking at some cauliflower from our freezer...not even close to the same! That's ok...I like challenges. One day I will find this mysterious cauliflower.
Seeing that shot prompted me to break out my extension tubes and go beyond 1:1 today (actually just beyond 2:1), so thank you for that!
