It's been too long since I checked in at your gallery. This image in particular caught my attention today. The drooping, frozen beauty is palpable. I can live in this picture, not just look at it.

the fog has taken out the background. You can normally see hills and farming landscape right behind.

Great perspective on this one! I have to agree with the earlier poster, the vignette really does help the perspective in this one.
Most might take it as a dreary scene, but plants can be remarkably hardy through a winter, and most of these are still standing tough, even if they've seen prettier days; I think I prefer to take this one as an image of flowers being starved, frozen, and kicked around, but still standing strong and ugly knowing they'll have their day in the sun again.

Glad you think the vignette works. They are pretty ugly looking things but I find their ugliness rather beautiful.

The ugliness and their apparent deadness is what gives this shot its 'feel'. It wouldn't be the same taking a shot of a sunny field of sunflowers. That's just a bunch of flowers. To me, this is more like a single page out of a story.
A lot happened to bring them into this state, and they're pretty beat up and ugly now, but you know they'll be beautiful again, you just don't know what fills in the spaces in between.

You write so well! Your talent is wasted - you need to be writing books and articles.

Between grinding out material for an upcoming skills update on a game I play, toying with my artsy image work, working, and then actually having time to myself to goof off, I don't have time to dig into places to go and things to write. Besides, not everything is as easy to comment on. A pretty picture is a pretty picture, but somehow your stuff always seems to capture an extra thousand words, too.

it reminds me of the movie Mulan when Mushu said " they popped out of the snow! like daisies!"
