Not that it matters anymore, but it is kelp. I grew up on a tiny island in BC and we had them all over our beaches. They look like whips or a microphone with long scraggly "hair" on the end. They were always fun to play with because there were so many things you could do with them.
Anyways, great shot of it. This really makes me feel at home.

those are sea onions I remember those vividly from my childhood, you can pop the bottoms, they contain pockets of air...never have I seen that many on shore though, what a strange sight!

I have never saw someting like these "seaweed"...
without leaves they look just like some pipes or cable...
and there was hundreds of tons of them...

They have a lot of storms there and I expect the seaweed was left on the beach after the storms. Your English is a million times better than my Russian by the way
