Considering the camera you took this with, I think you did a stellar job. The name choice was absolutely perfect and ties in all aspects fantastically.

Firstly, the fog is so damned eerie and really does add to the vibe of the piece. The low lighting in the area and the fog in combination really support the title of the piece coupled with the barrenness of the area, it just suits the scene perfectly. The contrast is perfect and outlines the fog really well. The capture of the tall trees scaling against the small playground shows great size dynamics.

A few things to keep mind of is the lighting in the sky, it is a little too bright where the leaf details starts to distort the shape of the leaf. The detail quality is a bit low and it shows on the resolution of the piece, but that's the cameras fault not yours.

Keep up the beautiful work, Roberta. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h… " width="15" height="13" alt="" title="Heart" />

I tried toning down the sky using picasa, but that ended up making the whole image too dark to be noticeable.

I may try for a better camera for christmas. Any recommendations?

I see.

I think any 35mm camera would be fine, preferably with interchangeable lenses. But right now I am currently using Nikon, so I would say Nikon.

This piece illustrates the premise that art can be created from just about any opportunity. The framing of this shot is such that the trees frame the piece and make you look inwards to the center of the image, landing at last upon a misty playground. The scene is evokative, reminding one of dreams of childhood, or perhaps terrors of childhood...the essence of the entire piece is transient and dreamlike: one takes what one wills from its contents and transmutes it to ones own emotional attatchments to such places. The vanishing lines created by the trees lead the eyes off into a foggy distance, adding to the surreal nature of the picture. A very complex picture, giving rise to a myriad of emotions to the viewer. Excellently done! Looks like a stillshot of an old noir movie...

Thank you for the critique

I had noticed how the mist looked from way back down the road and hoped it would still have the same opacity as I got closer because I really do love foggy, dark and dreary mornings. They have their own beauty despite the darkness

I love how creepy and still that looks. Like there's something waiting for the kids to come back.

:3 thanks

I was hoping to get a creepy angle from this photo. I had thought about taking it in black and white, but the photo didn't have the same feel devoid of colour

I like the colour. the fact that the playground is so bright and inviting really adds to the creep factor. xD
