IDENTITY.
PERSONALITY: INTJ-A / Lawful Neutral
[ Independent | Compassionate | Dignified ]
After his parents left him when he was barely out of his teenage years, Ain had to learn how to survive, not only for himself but also to prove himself worth of the answers he seek. He needed to learn the world and how it works. He has learned ways to provide for himself and make use of his talents that he mostly got from his mother with the exception of a few. However, despite his solitary life, Ain learned how to care and lend a hand for those who needed it. He initially lived a humble life where he was lucky enough to be one of the few who didnt worry about what to eat for his next meal. His mother had been kind and taught him how to be compassionate to those who had less than him. His dignified way of carrying of himself was something he inherently got from his mother. He is mostly always poised, exuding that otherworldly blood that flowed in his veins.[ Stern | Reserved | Skeptical ]
His mother would teach him proper ways of carrying himself and instilled in him a discipline that has become second nature. Because of this, he may become disapproving of childish and rowdy actions and would often tell those acting like so to behave - though of course, not all would listen. Also thanks to the way he was brought up, as an only child and a child that was only part human, Ain was used to being alone and different. Because of this, despite yearning for social relationships, he was mostly reserved - something he tries to avoid once he's become aware of it. Ain is also naturally skeptical of the world, after all, he did learn that it is foolish to trust everyone you meet.[ Stubborn | Frank | Critical ]
When Ain has a belief, it is mostly impossible for anyone to sway him. He will enter into arguments to defend his beliefs and would not back down unless fool-proof facts are handed to him and even then, he would only begrudgingly admit to being wrong at best. He does not like being in the wrong and one should prepare themselves if they are to tell Ain that he is doing something wrong. He is not unreasonable, just very stubborn. Ain also has the tendency to speak what is on his mind regardless of the situation which has since then landed him in unfavorable and unpleasant situations. He can also be seen as "judgmental" or critical of others if he finds himself disapproving something about that person. However, a large part of this is directed to himself. While Ain would present himself as confident or almost always right, he is still his biggest doubter and critic.
LIKES: Night time.Stargazing. Birds. Sewing/Weaving. Music boxes. Listening to stories. People watching. Books/Reading. Tea. Summer rain. Festivals. Plants/Gardening.
DISLIKES: Thunderstorms. Nosy and rowdy people. Superficiality. Dark places. Confined or cramped spaces. Small, meaningless talk. Sudden, loud noises. Feeling crowded. Dishonesty. Narcissism. Being mistaken for female.
TRIVIA:
He has his own magical catalyst - a pendulum which he keeps on his person at all times.
He took up the last name Justiciar on his own after his father died.
His whip was originally owned by his mother. It glows faintly like starlight whenever he uses it, and can provide dim light in the dark. It is capable of lightning-charged attacks but is limited to the whip itself. It cannot be used as projectile nor can Ain control it separately from the whip.
Has a complicated relationship with anything related to music since it reminded him of his mother and he didn't like the idea of being too similar to her. He is naturally musically inclined but he doesn't like indulging in it with the exception of music boxes. If he was to ever play an instrument, it would be a harp.
Can sometimes glow, skin and hair, depending on his emotions, but more commonly when he's happy or using his aether.
Will almost always be found wandering outside during nights when there’s a full moon. During these nights, he tends to glow brighter than usual.
His hair stops just a few inches past his shoulders.
Without his heels, he's actually just 5'5 ft. / 165 cm.
His pain tolerance is very very low. Please don't hit him in any way because he will bruise easily.
Has mastered the act of not showing too many emotions on his face. Or at least, not the ones that would reveal too much about him.
It's not hard to make him smile or chuckle, but when something really gets him going, like full blown laughter, tears and wheezing laughter and all, it's gonna take him a while before finally calming down again.

BACKSTORY.
There was a legend once, talking about beings who lived in the stars who enjoyed watching the world from above. No they're not deities, or gods, or angels-- they simply were as humans and other beings lived on land, they lived in the heavens. They appreciated beauty of every kind: music, arts, nature. Stories were told about how these beings would sometimes descend on earth to enjoy what the land could offer them that the heavens could not. To do so they must wear a mantle that lets them travel from the heavens down to earth and back, but once it's lost, they can never return, and each of them can only own one. To these beings, their mantles are their most precious belonging. And for those who live on land, to see one of these beings would bring extreme luck upon their life.
One man so happened to have such luck. He happened upon a group of sisters who were playing by the river, and by the way they glowed under the moonlight, he knew that they were not human. So entranced was he of their beauty that he stole one of the sister's garment. As the sisters became tired, they eventually decided to return to the heavens, at least until they realized one of their sister's garments were missing. They tried and tried to find the missing mantle but was in vain. The sun was to rise soon and they needed to go back, and so, having no other choice, they flew back to the heavens, leaving their crying sister behind. The man who was watching all this unfold eventually approached the distraught maiden and offered his help, and the maiden, not knowing what to do, accepted his help - not knowing that this was the same man who stole her garments.
Time has passed since then, seasons came and went, and the star maiden and the human eventually fell in love and had a family, a son. However, despite this, the husband would always find his wife staring out to the sky forlornly at nights, and on nights with the full moon, she wept. No longer able to hide his guilt, he finally came forward and told her the truth, hoping that in her love for him and her son, she would forgive him and stayed. Once told the truth, the star maiden became furious and swore to leave him and their son behind. Her husband begged but to no avail. The next night, she left.
To others, hearing such a story would garner disbelief, but for Ainsel, this was his history. That star maiden was his mother and his father? His father had long since died out of grief and regret. Ain had been alone since then, confused and unable to understand why his mother left one day. For years he tried to ask his father for the reason but his father would not talk about it, and he brought that to him to his grave.
The only thing he knew, he remembered, was how his mother would always talk about the stars, about how her sisters lived in the heavens, and how she missed them and wished to go back. She told him stories of a world that seemed unbelievable but the truth and yearning in his mother's eyes made him believe. One night, curious, he asked his mother how it was possible and she told him about her mantle that she lost - but said no more than that as she was always overcome by grief. So that was where he planned to start.
He needed answers. And if he can only get answers from his mother in the heavens, then he must find a way there himself. But first he must prove himself worthy of the mantle that has had his name on it ever since he was born. And as if the universe heard his pleas, he found himself thrust into a new world where Trials await.
SKILLS.
Magic Class: Psychic Mage - Ainsel accidentally stumbled upon an aether reserve in Glacier's Bay which synchronized with his crystal. He then found himself able to tap into the natural element of Glacier Bay's aether after it assimilated with his own. As of currently, Ainsel is still struggling and discovering the extent of these abilities and his control over it is clumsy and minimal.
Strengths:
Ain is a strong willed individual and what he lacks with physical skills, he makes up for with mental aptitude. He is intelligent and capable of thinking up ways and strategies to best deal with a situation. He has an aether reserve that is more than what an average person might have thanks to his celestial heritage. The only weapon he knows and is willing to wield is a whip which he can skillfully maneuver around with.
Weaknesses:
Ain currently has no skill in using any common weapons (ie, blade weapons) and his physical strength and endurance is weaker than most. He can only defend himself or fight against one to two person at a time. His attacks aren’t really made to inflict serious damage but for defense or chasing threats away, to buy him time to escape. As someone who prefers keeping his distance during fights, when confronted at close distances, Ain could be very vulnerable.
Abilities:
Spell weaving - Through reading various spell books, he can create or weave spells for himself or other people. These spells would be contained within paper talismans or magical objects/catalysts. As long as he has the basics of a spell, he is able to weave it. However, such items can only be used once. The catalyst will be used up or broken after single use. And it will only be half as effective as someone who might be able to cast such spells naturally (ie., elemental spells, offensive spells). A reminder that he does not deal with hex or curses.
Illusions - He is a master of illusions which is useful for stealth or cover purposes. He can cast illusions on a specific person or area. But to use it on more than three people or a large area might cause the illusion to fail. It is easily countered by counter spells, talismans, or an individual with a strong mind/will.
Rejuvenation and Support - He is capable of healing injuries as long as they are not fatal or life threatening. He can also cast protective/supportive spells such as barriers or temporary aether boosts. He can draw poison or venom from a body as long as it’s immediately after injury has been dealt. If the poison goes too far into a body, he won't be able to do anything about it.
Charm - He is capable of charming both humans and creatures to a degree via his music, that is through humming or singing. But you’ll never catch him making use of this ability and would rather forget that he has this ability altogether. As it is, he doesn't talk about it.
Ascension - Currently locked
Ice Manipulation (Recently discovered / Underdeveloped) - He is now able to conjure and manipulate ice and frost and use it for offense. So far he is able to form icicles and use them as projectiles as well as spreading frost - either through physical contact or from the aforementioned projectiles. Ainsel can theoretically freeze a reasonably-sized target for as long as he wanted, or as his aether allows him to. He does not necessarily require a source to be able to conjure them as they come directly from his aether, though it would greatly help him if there was. Unfortunately, he is not immune to the sudden (and continuous) drop of temperature in his body whenever he wields ice for prolonged periods of time.
