Description And finally, it’s done. The StarGate movie earth fighter. It’s basically just an F/A-18 with parts of the Uganaught (death glider in SG1) put onto it. It’s not really that practical a design, but it’s not meant for that. Just a hands down hybrid fighter.

Story
After the star gate was first opened, the United States military wanted technological advancements. Jack O'neil was sent to recover what technology he could from Abydos. He radioed back that he had found an abandoned Uganaught inside the landing pyramid. It was too large to fit through the star gate in one piece, so engineers were sent to first study it, then disassemble it, and take it through the star gate back to earth.
The first prototype was drawn up to study the feasibility of 'upgrading' modern day earth fighter jets into star fighters. Many of the technologies were duplicated, but most weren't. The antigravity systems and the 'lasers' could not be hand made. Instead, they took the guns straight off the original Uganaught, and placed them, attached to modified power and control systems on the wings of a specially constructed F/A-18E. The propulsion systems were complex, but easy to construct, so the scientists managed to reverse engineer a completely new hybrid engine system. The anti gravity needed for VTOL was feather like attachments on the wings of the Uganaught. These could not be replicated, and with the USAF becoming more anxious of being attacked by the alien forces, the fins were taken straight off the alien ship. Other control systems, and chaises support was added, using materials that were common, but difficult to work with. The underside of the fighter was given heat shielding tiles, and the cockpit was changed to an anti-glare canopy. The air intakes were changed, and maundering thrusters were added to the ship.
The fighter was completed June 1999, and put into flight tests shortly after. it was proven to be a fighter with near limitless potential, rivalling the new state of the art F-22 that was still in development. The fighter however, was not cost effective, and the parts were needed for research, so the fighter never went into combat or production. Instead, the engineers were tasked now with coming up with an easily constructible fighter that COULD be mass produced.
two prototypes were constructed. XSF-01 was built with all of the tecknologies, and is shown here. XSF-02 was basicaly the smae aircraft, but was completely man made, instead of from scavenged parts.
the aircraft is currently being held in a secret testing facility.

F/A-18...with balls....looks a bit aft-heavy, probably needs more landing gear

Like the colours

It'd have landing geer further back, and they would be shorter, making its nose tilt upwards when its landed. I think that makes some fighter jets jsut that little bit sweeter looking.

Awesome Awesome F-18/F! Another nice story where I get a headache almost. I'll stick to Raptors, though.

They're my favorite toys (besides everything in fictional Star Trek and Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica and...)

Oh, I didn't think there was an F, I thought the E was the most recent
Chronological order, you know.

OMGOMGOMGOMG!!! That's f*ckin' sweet!! I love it!!

1999 though...that's a long time after the events of the movie, which were in 1994. Although you may have done that intentionally...just FYI.

Awesome job!!

ah, dang. I didnt know when the movie was set, I based it off when SG1 started, ten years ago now.
but then again, it dose take time to make alien tecknology, so i still stand by it.
yeah, I used SG1 as a marker for this, cause I still dont know all too much about the movie 'verse yet.

thanks. I'm planning on two more smaller ones, the fighter that was mass produced after this prototype, and the USSS Nimitz.

Oh...I see!! Well, SG-1 is so messed up and has so little parallels to the Movie 'verse (make that like...no parallels) that you can't really use it as a guide, any more than I can use the timeline from the original Transformers cartoon for the new Transformers movie.

Remember, if you have ANY questions about the StarGate 'verse, feel free to ask me, bro. I'm always more than happy to share my hard-gained knowledge on StarGate!!

Sweet!! I'm looking forward to those others (duh)!! What's the USSS Nimitz?!?

I'll have a sketch up soon.
