Everbody loves the new Batgirl
How can someone don't love the new batgirl?
This Batgirl isn't from my series of Gotham Girls, I'll do another illustration of her for that

I can't say I love it....I mean. it totally fits her.....like in her teenage years. its odd seeing her downgrade. this seems more like a homemade costume compared to her original New 52 costume. hell Dick took parts from Bruce's spare batsuits and created his Robin costume and it looked more advanced than this.

What I see is they are trying to bring new readers focused on more young people
Looks like DC are trying to take off, at least her, from the pantheon of gods the their characters are.
And yes the idea by the artist was to make it as Barbara got the pieces of her costume from stores and customized it.
You can wait to see tons of new girls cosplying her because it's thousand times simpler than her other outfits.
For me it's not a downgrade, it's a massive upgrade not even for the character, but for the company as well if they keep this new line and bring new characters to it with time.

Yes, a target audience. Something New 52 has been going for since the beginning with their weak writing XD. Batgirl for the YOLO generation I suppose.

actually after reading an interview explaining how she ends up with this costume, what I said stands correct lol. she ends up having to make a new suit from scratch. like I said it totally fits her style so in a sense this giddup is a reflection of her inner upbeat personality. well played DC, now keep me interested with this Grayson arc.....
