This shot is a part of the 2012 landscape calendar, which is now available ! Go check it out
The floating log was really bright in the late evening sun. All the wood which finds itself in this huge lake tries to escape through this narrow spot where the creek flows out. There is a big log jam just downstream, so they get stuck. It's a pretty surreal place, which I hope to capture when more snow melts soon.
Location: Garibaldi Lake, Garibaldi Provincial Park, Beautiful British Columbia, Canada.
Equipment: Nikon D90 + Tokina 11-16mm + Tiffen Polarizer.
Technique: Photomatix Pro 5 and Photoshop CS6 from 3 RAW exposures.

This scene is gorgeous. It is absolutely stunning. This could just take my breath away. Nature is a very beautiful thing and you did an excellent job of capturing it. Fresh green trees, crystal clear waters, and snowy mountains. I would also like to compliment you on having the picture being perfectly clear and straight. Either by hand, stand, or tripod it still is a difficult task to get the sunlight just right. You must have a very advanced and high res camera because this image makes me feel like I am there. Congrats on getting it in a calendar because you have a really cool talent. When I buy a calendar they don't even look half as good as this! I hope you sell tons! (Heck, I might buy one myself!)

This is an excellent piece! Very well captured and a great deal of detail in the image!
I love that I feel like I'm actually standing there when I look at this photograph, I can almost feel the warm sun on my back even though it's freezing cold where I live..
Even though the dimensions of the image have a small angle of view, I feel like I know exactly what is surrounding this place, even the view behind it because of where the sun is hitting on that small section on the bottom left of the screen.
This is a magnificent place, you are very lucky to be able to go there!
Well done on capturing an amazing moment in time! Keep up the good work!
