Description

Made with JWildfire (base flame was from the "Rays" random generator), then minor paint.net touchups. The "circles in grid" effect is done with a low-weight waffle transform and a bwrands final transform. The green streaked lines are done with two separate julian transforms. I am not sure why, but changing the waffle slices to anything other than 6x6 produces ugly gridlines in the bottom middle region. There are some gridlines visible in the top right, but they look nice enough to keep. The top left region is completely black, but the other corners are darkened due to a black palette region.

There are a lot of things going on in this piece. The grid-pattern which diverges from the bottom middle, the cutout darkened corners, the central star, the white line overlay and the many different looking circles. The circles themselves look like Julian/scry fractals, which is why I think it's surprising they are produced with bwrands instead - although I don't know what that function is, or how much it deviates from the julian function. I think that it's nice the green overlay does not use xaos either.

BTW, the title is a real thing. Search it on Google scholar!

[Note to self, I don't know how to upload .flame files attached to the image on DA yet. But I will when I learn how to.]
