Made with JWildfire, starting from the "SphericalCross Script for Jwildfire by MickHogan, 2013. Rev2." I made two layers, on the top one I used the G'MIC-Qt "dreamy watercolour" filter by Joan Rake, then a little antialias. I change the layer blend mode to 'colour burn', and hue shift the bottom layer to yellow/orange, and erase a little bit of alpha on the top layer to add the orange glow.
When I was generating the flame in JWildfire it looked a lot more like a hexagram. Now, it is less noticeable, and it looks mostly just that something is burning. Good enough to call that a ritual success.
