Hmmmm good question, I figured since Keith was there he would take the initiative or something (The galra probably would have used Lance if they could use the lion through him?) but then I do feel like Lance honestly have everything it takes to be the pilot of the red lion so... I guess I didn't think that far ahead haha

Keith is on a mission from the marmorans, and Lance just ran into Keith and happens to be a big fan of the Champion and a better person than most so he decided to join in on the saving attempt haha. And as soon as he joined and was noticed he was officially an enemy of Zarkon so oops.
