A boy with depression, struggling in the real world -- he thinks of his feelings as "black and white." Nothing is right. I won't ever be good enough. Et cetera. But, as he begins to receive more support along the way, he realizes he wants HELP, not to be helpLESS. He's conflicted about these feelings because his depression is so strong that it's battling how he truly feels, with his true feelings being represented by the palette. The colors on the palette represent the real world and its opportunities, while the backgrounds portray his conflicting emotions and thoughts -- the deer and forest represents the rational, calm side of him, while the wolf represents his anger and will to lash out. The ocean represents a fight between these two -- one minute, the water is calm, and the next minute, there's a raging hurricane. The buildings represent the reality -- his life he so desperately craves to get back to. He doesn't have a clue what to do, and it's beginning to really stress him out. But, he DOES know what he truly wants at this point -- and that is HELP. He is WORTH something. He has the ability to do what others can, and he is coming to terms with realizing that. Inside of him, it's a constant fight -- one that he WILL win.

People with depression deserve awareness, and they deserve to overcome these thoughts in their heads! There will always be someone out there willing to help -- even if it seems hopeless, try reaching out, so that your world can once again be colorful.
