Nice, but I love it when Soundwave's eyes were red instead of yellow ( I know it's yellow for the G1 toy and comic book butΒ I love the cartoon version always ).

Are they actually following that uncharismatic bore?

The story is more complicated than that, but at the present moment, yes. XD

Oh man, if Soundwave were the leader of the Decepticons, we'd've lost ages ago.

I actually don't believe that to be the case. He's far from a coward, very far from a coward, and he's actually highly intelligent. He recognizes Soundwave's loyalty and would be loathe to sacrifice him; however, if it came down to it and it was somehow necessary to achieve his goal, I could see him leaning that route.

No, he's very intelligent ...Β perhaps not for the mad schemes he comes up with, Megatron would be quite different and perhaps even boring.Β But, this is where I disagree with you on this.Β Megatron's an opportunist and usually the second to crumble when it comes to the plan going wrong.Β Starscream usually being the first ... unless he's on a rant, then he's priceless.Β Oh, Megatron's brave and all when the plan is working fine, but push comes to shove, he turns tail and runs.Β Now, true, he might loath sacrificing Soundwave, but I think he'd do it so fast it would even rattle Starscream.

Which continuity are you referring to? Cause that was somewhat true in the cartoon, sure, but the cartoon was primarily a toy advertisement before an actual quality show. Compare that to the '86 movie, and the old comics. He was far from a coward in both of those. And he has shown loyalty before, though more often to his cause that individuals, but he very highly values Soundwave as a trusted advisor, effective spy, and a dangerous warrior--not to mention Soundwave's sheer loyalty, which far surpasses that of nearly every other Decepticon out there. He's going to think very hard before he just gives up an asset like that.Β

That makes sense! I wouldn't say my experience is THAT vast, lol, but I've seen a few shows and read a decent chunk of the comics, so I do have a bit of a broader scope. Just speaking in terms of the 80os cartoon, however, then yes, Megatron is weirdly cowardly in several episodes, I agree there. And my dude trust me, the idea of being a "true" fan of anything is just bogus and people trying to be elitist. If you like something, then you're a fan of it! Doesn't matter how much specific knowledge you have :> Level of investment =/= whether or not you're a fan!Β
