I haven't put anything new up for a while now, because I have (among many other things) been working on this; the mural in my friend Simon's new cafe/gallery called babahogs!

Many a night and day was spent on it, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

The concept is as follows; the shop in itself is dedicated to Simon's grandmother, who passed away some time ago and left him some money he wanted to put to good use. Therefore he decided to open a gallery where students like myself could exhibit stuff free of charge, and have the opportunity to have their things professionally printed and shown in Plymouth, Bristol and many other fine places in the UK.

I figured I wanted to do something centered around grandmothers, and I've been fascinated by the archetypical mediterranean black-clad old woman for some time, so I put them in there.

It's a nod to feminism, really, for as we all know women are the ones who have kept society from falling apart over the millennia. And so I wanted to show this by having three grandmothers, one mending, one knitting and one sowing on the very FABRIC OF SPACE (hence the base colours).

Great fun to work on and Simon was very happy.
