sometimes when scanning my messages and see many many many artists I start to wonder "why am I following this guy?"
thanks for the reminder!

Classic Joe. I remember when I'd be out in the hallway working security and he'd come up to my drawing table, slam his fist down and say, "KEEP DRAWING PICTURES!" When Joe tells you that, you listen.

He was a man's man and he brought that work ethic to everything he did, and did everything to instill it in his students as well. Seriously, a fantastic human being.

Nicely done Jason, I like how the brush strokes are similar to his Sgt. Rock. The expression wins it all.
I woke up from a nap that day when I found out. It was actually Kat's post that made me look deeper into other posts.
At first I thought someone was kidding, then later reading other comments and seeing other Kubie's having their picture taken with Joe. I realized it was true.
I'm still sad about him gone.
Overall, nice piece Jason.
I'm sure there will be tons of Art in the future in commemoration to Joe.

Thanks a lot Dave. Yeah I saw it on facebook as well. Truly a shock. Can't say I even considered his time was going to come soon. What a great guy though. Changed a lot of people's lives.

I love what you wrote here Jason..this story you've recited is typical Joe. I think all of us who knew him felt like he was a grandfather to us. I was very saddened by this news

Thanks Maz. He was one of a kind, they just don't make 'em like Joe anymore.

Thanks, yeah I can't believe it either. The guy was in such good shape, always very healthy looking. I never expected this. Even at 85 I say it's too soon.

i know! his voice was strong, what a hand he had! strong handshakes.. 85 years and in perfect shape... i think we all knew he would die someday... but nobody wanted him to die... nobody.. his presence at the school was unique

Great piece, man. Went to the funeral today... Really really sad day for me, as I'm sure it was for a lot of people not just in the US but all over the world...

That's good you were able to make it there. How are you holding up man? I was totally shocked, I didn't even know he was sick. How's Adam and Andy doing?

Hey man, sorry I took forever to answer to this message!
I was pretty shocked too, it seemed like he was gonna be out of the hospital and that
he was gonna get better, he didn't even know he was sick. He just went in for a check up and they found something
so they kept him at the hospital...
The whole thing hit me pretty hard too...
For all we knew he was gonna get better and get out of the hospital so it was really unexpected for that to happen but anyway!
Adam and Andy have been holding up pretty good. I could tell it took a lot from Adam to go through those days, it really hit him too
but things are looking better now and we actually managed to finish our deadline with all the stuff going on so at least we were able to do that!
How are you doing, man? how's work going for you? congrats on the new baby!
