It is dawn.

Besteng has fully come into bloom, all white and gold flowers that dot the rolling fields down to the lower reaches of the territory. The weather has grown warmer in these final days of spring, but an otherworldly fog that soothes the approach of summer rolls in from the sea. It churns through the air disturbed by the large footsteps of a still-small bobcat.

A red wolf follows, steps hesitant. Unwilling to depart from these beautiful, all too familiar lands. Deep down it knows that it must as it has in the past- again and again and again.

It has taken enough from Fellfang. Hasn't it?
For however much Leone wants to stay, to give in to its selfish desires? It knows it is time to go.

Before it can move further from the border, a whispered tremolo and sharp nudge from Caller’s dagger beak draws Leone's attention from the kitten– now halfway to the camp its trio had left on the edge of the Southern Wilds. The red wolf looks over its shoulder, prepared to ask what was so pressing the bird couldn't wait.

The words live and die in the split second it sees the Jarl– she, who is its most selfish of its desires. In a moment of doubt, Leone wonders if she is here for it… as she had been again, again, and again.

It wordlessly crouches down to allow its friend to clamber into the water. "I'll catch up." With a nod of understanding the loon takes off.

And, as they somehow begun to make a habit of since its most recent arrival to the seaside, Leone and Valera talk until the pink sky turns blue…

This was a collab with the ever wonderful Newt! Finals are cruel but they are strong and found the time to color this so beautifully! I finished up the rest. Thank you for picking Leone to be her guardian and working with me on developing their relationship Newt, I always love getting to work with you and hope we still get to play animals together for a long time to come.
